“Professional head shots coming soon I promise”
I believe that counseling is one of the most meaningful investments a person can make in themselves. Just as we invest time and energy into our careers, relationships, and physical health, our mental and emotional well-being deserves the same attention. My approach is straightforward, supportive, and focused on helping clients gain practical insight and lasting change. I strive to create a space where you can be yourself without fear of judgment, and I am committed to providing an affirming environment for individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, including members of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you're facing anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can be an opportunity to invest in the future you want to build.
Hi, I’m Jose (he/him), LPC-Associate
Life can be difficult, confusing, and sometimes painful. Rather than avoiding those realities, I believe growth comes from facing them honestly. My approach is influenced by existential therapy, which focuses on questions of meaning, purpose, freedom, responsibility, and how we choose to live our lives despite uncertainty. Together, we explore not only the challenges you're facing, but also what kind of life you want to build and what gives that life meaning.
I take a straightforward and practical approach to counseling. That means I won't simply sit back and nod along. When negative thinking, self-defeating beliefs, or unhelpful patterns show up, we'll examine them directly. If anxiety, fear, or self-criticism are telling you stories that keep you stuck, I'll help you challenge those narratives rather than accept them as facts.
At times, this means calling out the "BS" that anxiety, self-doubt, and negative thinking try to convince us is true. Not in a judgmental way, but with honesty, curiosity, and respect. My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, take ownership of the choices available to you, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and aligned with your values.
Therapy isn't about becoming a perfect version of yourself. It's about learning how to navigate life's challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and purpose while investing in the person you want to become.
